"Mari~" is a common prefix for homosexual words. The suffix "~ón" is used to refer to big things. In this case, it refers to someone who is overtly and unquestionably gay. While there have been efforts to re-appropriate this word with pride to be a good thing, it is generally used as an insult like "fag".
